Filomena Borecká

Filomena Borecká’s work deals with intangible themes such as breath, relationships and the passage of time. She uses dynamic drawings and sculptural objects with abstract organic forms to capture the flow of creative energy, the constant spontaneous movement inherent in the pulsations of nature, biological rhythms and cosmic events. Borecká was introduced to a wider audience at the exhibition Breath of Silent Thoughts (2024), organized by the National Gallery in Prague. There, Borecká presented her large-scale abstract drawings and installations that emphasized themes of togetherness and reciprocity. Her multimedia installation Phrenos – The Bank of Breath (2011-present) emphasizes the deep interconnectedness of all living things. Since 1998 she has lived in Paris, where she enriches her work with diverse cultural influences.
